PARIS, MON AMOUR!

PARIS, MON AMOUR!

I caught your attention with the title, didn't I? Oh, I had a feeling! You were probably expecting a story about Paris, the romantic city of lights, or maybe the legendary figure from Greek mythology. But nope, this is all about me—Paris, an adored and mischievous 3-month-old Jack Russell puppy.

Some may know me as a Jack Russell Terrier or Parson Russell Terrier, but to my humans, Flor and George, I'm just Paris—their first "kid" in their lives. Their love for me has inspired me to become a writer, so here's my story!

THE STORY OF HOW I TRICKED THEM INTO TAKING ME HOME...

Mom and dad had been searching for a Jack Russell for months. They claimed to have a clear idea of what they wanted, yet amusingly, they ended up with me. According to my mom, I was nothing like what they had envisioned; in fact, I was quite the opposite. It seems she overlooked the idea that sometimes things unfold in unexpected ways. Their closest friends sent some pictures of me and my siblings. Despite being the smallest and weakest among us, I managed to win them over. They were excited and had a restless night.

To cut a long story short, we met the following day. I was surprised when my chubby, lethargic older brother became the focus of my parents' attention. He certainly put up a good fight. Fortunately for me, my mom couldn't resist my charming, inquisitive gaze, and they decided to bring me home. What a delight! It was a memorable day, despite the cold December weather, our happiness made it feel like the sunniest spring day!

FROM PARIS WITH LOVE

How I get my name? Well, my mom thinks Paris has a special charm that's just like mine! Despite being small, I've got a big personality and charm that make it hard to resist. Who could say no to a cute pup like me?

Oh, and guess what? I love fashion! I have a knack for picking out stylish and fancy things, like my cool bowtie and my comfy bed. And I dream of becoming famous one day. That's why I take Balzac's words seriously: "Whoever does not visit Paris regularly will never really be elegant." Mom and dad, keep that in mind!

QUALITY TIME WITH MOMMY

Mom is kind and beautiful. I love spending time with her while she enjoys her morning coffee in the kitchen. But our routine isn't without challenges. I struggle to resist temptations, and Mom knows it. If I see something tasty, I can't help but want it. I try to stick to healthier foods, though!

I've gotten good at finding where Mom keeps my treats for when I'm good. With my sharp senses and cute puppy eyes, I always manage to get a treat, even when I don't really deserve it. Sorry, Mom!

I enjoy watching Mom do her makeup. She's great at it. She's a professional makeup artist who works with TV stars when she's not looking after me. Sometimes I sneak her makeup brushes or shiny things she uses around her eyes. I love anything that sparkles! Mom doesn't like me playing with her makeup, but there's one exception: I help her remove it at the end of the day by giving her face a little lick, and she lets me!

BEST MOMENTS WITH DAD

As an energetic Jack Russell terrier, I'm loving, devoted, and endlessly entertaining, embracing all the joys life has to offer. But above all, I'm incredibly fortunate to have a wonderful human daddy who showers me with love and spoils me rotten. I definitely inherited my good looks and sense of style from him.

Daddy lets me get away with (almost) anything, like chewing on his clothes, and when we go for walks, he often lets me off the leash so I can explore freely. Mom, on the other hand, prefers a more orderly walk, but my natural instincts for exploration and hunting are ingrained in my DNA! Despite her reservations, we usually go for walks together.

When Dad comes home after a busy day, that's when the real fun begins. We have our playful routines, and things can get pretty wild. As Jack Russells, we can't tolerate boredom, and our high energy levels rival even those of Fox Terriers.

FOR EXPERIENCED DOG OWNERS ONLY

Teaching a Jack Russell is not as hard as some people think. I'm actually quite trainable, but I also have a strong will of my own. Fortunately, my dad is incredibly patient and has a great sense of humor, so he makes training sessions a lot of fun. Plus, he knows just how much I adore treats and praise! Thanks to him, I've already mastered commands like "sit" and "find." It's just "stay" and "drop it" that I struggle with, but we're making progress on those fronts.

A HANDFUL, RESTLESS, YET A CHARMER!

Anything could be my toy, from a cork to a mop or a remote control, along with my own toys. And speaking of toys, I'm not keen on sharing them, at least not yet—I like to keep them all in one tidy spot, a habit I picked up from my dad.

I love pushing boundaries and trying new things, like my talent for digging imaginary holes anywhere I can, whether it's under a blanket or in the snow.

Like many Jack Russell Terriers, I'm friendly toward strangers and love playing with kids. Whenever I hear children laughing or another dog nearby, I'm eager to join in the fun. However, I'm a bit more cautious around grumpy old dogs. After all, I may be small, but I'm not foolish—I know my dad always has my back!

I AM INCREDIBLE LUCKY

I consider myself incredibly lucky—I have the most amazing human mom and dad anyone could ask for. Truthfully, I didn't realize this when I first chose them, but it seems my intuition served me well. Kudos to me for picking such wonderful parents!
